2022

03-29 I served on a micromobility panel in the 2022 UNC Cleantech Summit, the largest event of its kind in the southeastern region of the United States.

03-24 I presented our team’s work on micromobility equity and on micromobility & transit integration in the 7th Annual UTC Conference for the Southeastern Region, hosted by Florida Atlantic University.

01-08 I had a great time atttending the 2022 TRB conference in Washington DC. Here is the list of sessions in which I was a presenter or moderator. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in my research.

2021

12-23 Our research team has been selected for the Federal Transit Administration Research-to-Practice Initiative Grant. The project is led by CALSTART.

11-12 I presented the TBS paper [download] in the TRB AMS50 Webinar (video) “Machine Learning in Travel Behavior Research.

10-23 I served as a panelist in the 2021 ACSP roundtable “Exploring Nonlinear Relationships with Machine Learning.”

10-22 I presented paper titled “Do e-scooters fill mobility gaps and promote equity? A spatiotemporal analysis using open big data” in the 2021 ACSP conference session titled “The Impacts of Emerging Transport on Equity.”

10-19 I did a presentation titled “Do e-scooters fill mobility gaps and promote equity before and during COVID-19? A spatiotemporal analysis using open big data” in the UF Biocomplexity Engineering Group Seminars.

09-30 I did a presentation titled “Exploring the potential for public transit and share micromobility integration” in the Ford Motor Company Robotics and Mobility Research EMM/SAR Meeting Series.

08-11 I won the best dissertation award from the World Society on Transport and Land Use Research [WSTLUR]. WSTLUR received a total of 22 submissions for this award. Watch a 3-min presentation of my dissertation (video).

07-01 My H1B visa was finally approved in June. I started a Research Assistant Professor position in Civil Engineering at the University of Florida.

05-03 My co-authored paper [download] won the Travel Behaviour & Society Outstanding Paper Award 2020.

02-03 My solo-authored paper titled “Toward Accessibility-Based Planning: Addressing the Myth of Travel Cost Savings” was published in Journal of the American Planning Association.

2020

05-05 I received the Distinguished Dissertation Award in Urban and Regional Planning award from the University of Michigan.

02-12 My first solo-authored paper titled “Evaluating Household Residential Preferences for Walkability and Accessibility across Three U.S. Regions” was published in Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment.

2019

09-20 I started a Postdoc Research Associate position in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Florida.

09-10 I submitted my dissertation to the Rackham Graduate School at the University of Michigan and completed my PhD studies.

2018

02-19 My master’s capstone project titled “Stabilizing MorningSide” won the ACIP Student Project Award from the American Planning Association.
