Lab Members

The Just&Green Transportation Lab focuses on using data science and artificial intelligence (machine learning) to make transportation more equitable and sustainable. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of people from various fields such as Transportation Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Computer Science, Statistics, and Economics.

Postdoc Associate

Luyu Liu (luyuliu@ufl.edu)

Postdoc Associate in Civil and Coastal Engineering, University of Florida

 

Luyu Liu is jointly hired by the SERMOS Lab and Just&Green Lab. He received his Ph.D. degree in Geographic Information Science at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on promoting sustainable transportation and mobility equity with GIS and data science techniques.

Duanya Lyu (lyu.duanya@ufl.edu)

Ph.D. student in Transportation Engineering, University of Florida

 

Duanya Lyu received her M.E. and B.E. degrees in traffic engineering from South China University of Technology. Her research interests include transportation equity, sustainability, and spatial data analysis. Beyond academia, she finds relaxation in practicing yoga.




Yiheng Qian (yihengqian@ufl.edu)

Ph.D. student in Transportation Engineering, University of Florida

 

Yiheng Qian received his BS degree from Tongji University and his MS degree from Northwestern University. His research interest is to increase the efficiency and equity of transportation systems based on machine learning and statistical methods. He likes singing, playing the piano, and traveling.

Kaiyue Wang graduated from the University of Florida with a master’s in computer science. Her research interest is in computer vision. She loves coding and traveling.

Yilong Dai is a Master student in the department of Computer Science at University of Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is a full-stack developer and loves machine learning. Out of work, he is a crazy fan of Kyrie Irving.

Eliana Duarte is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a major in Civil Engineering with a minor in Urban and Regional Planning. She is interested in public transit, transportation planning, and urban design.

Undergraduate student, University of Florida

 

Mateo Nader is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a major in Civil Engineering with a minor in Urban and Regional Planning. He is interested in land use, transportation, urban design, and human geography. He is also involved with the Engineers Without Borders Peru design team, and outside of work he enjoys exploring new places and watching movies.

Ksenia Velichko is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a major in Computer Science. She is interested in digital art and design, sociology, and enjoys work involving public health.

Aubrey is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Geography with specialization in Environmental Geosciences. She is interested in GIS, geomatics, and incorporating sustainability in civil engineering. Outside of the lab, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and reading.

Pedro Henrique Vicentini-Silva is an undergraduate student in civil engineering at UNESP-FEB (São Paulo State University - Bauru School of Engineering) in Brazil and researches traffic safety, focusing on vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.

Assistant Professor in Transportation Engineering, University of Florida

 

Jacob is the director of the Just&Green Transportation lab. Specializing in public transit, shared mobility, spatial analytics and transportation equity, he applies cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and data science to find ways to make transportation more equitable and sustainable.

Lin Su is currently a PhD in Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin. She received an MS degree from the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida. Her research focused on shared micromobility and public transit.
